The Project
Ascendent completed the asbestos abatement and complete structure demolition of the former Jackson Hall and Parking Garage at the Tacoma Mary Bridge Hospital Site. Extreme care and caution was required due to its proximity to the hospital which remained active with zero interruptions during completion of the demolition. Automated dust suppression cannons were used to manage dust generation, and demolition was performed in a manner that maximized recycling. Demolition and Abatement project size was just under $2 million with a peak crew size of 30 field employees. of the nearly 20,000 Tons of recycled materials, 7,500 tons of concrete remained on-site for re-use in new development.
