The Project

Mechanical Demolition

Ascendent was contracted to remove the floating lid cover on one of the holding tanks attached to the digester building. The lid was constructed of steel, and had a ring of concrete ballast blocks leading to a total weight of 125,000 lbs. After the tank had been made inert with nitrogen gas and existing solids pumped down, Ascendent prepped, rigged and removed the lid over the course of five days. The lid was removed as singular piece and fully recycled.
