The Project
Total demolition and abatement of Highland Ice Arena in Shoreline, WA. One of the biggest challenges of this project was the ice rink itself, this consisted of multiple layers of foam as well as tubing filled with glycol, sand, and gravel. Prior to structural demolition the foam and tubing had to be removed so that they wouldn’t contaminate the rest of the generated structural debris. One of the most valuable tools on this project was our 103’ High- Reach PC490 Excavator. Which not only helped on the structural demolition itself but provided a way to demolish the concrete wall at a safe distance in the event of an unplanned collapse. Project size was $450,000 and an affected 61,000 square feet.
